We serve because young people are most at risk for homelessness.

Skills 4 Life recognized children and youth; age 21 and younger, make up 46 percent of Minnesota’s homeless population. And, according to the recent census, they make up just 30 percent of its overall population; with the majority of these at risk within the I-494/I-694 loop.

We also know that youth will often couch-hop or stay with relatives or friends for short period of times; without a permanent residence to call their own. Research has proven youth from 21 years of age and younger are the group most at risk and most likely to be homeless.

All funds donated to Skills 4 Life will support the organization’s general operations, programming and supportive services mission for youth ages 16-21, with a special emphasis on those homeless youth who are both in-crisis and at-risk.
